North Charleston community leaders call for civilian oversight of police

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — North Charleston community leaders are advocating for stronger civilian oversight of local law enforcement, after a town hall Tuesday night.

At Ralph M. Hendricks Park, advocates called for “community control” of policing. They want a board of democratically elected citizens to have a say in who polices their neighborhoods and how.
