Montevallo fell to Columbus State, 5-0, on Wednesday night.
The Cougars fired the first shot of the game early forcing Ciara Duff to make her first save of the night in the fourth minute. Just five minutes later, Duff’s second save of the game kept the game knotted at 0-0. Morgan Goehring fired the Falcons’ first shot of the game in the 19th minute but missed the mark. Columbus State would draw first blood and take a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute. Duff added a third save in the 26th minute before the game shifted to a battle for possession over the next 10 minutes.
