Lansing police share Halloween safety tips

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – It’s Halloween, and the Lansing Police Department is offering a few safety reminders for drivers and trick-or-treaters.

  • Slow down if you’re driving, look for people crossing the street.
  • When walking, cross at the corners of sidewalks, don’t walk in the street.
  • Make sure costumes are reflective so drivers can see you.
  • Check your kid’s candy, throw out anything with a tampered wrapper.

“For our adults celebrating Halloween… have a designated driver,” said Lansing Police Community Service Officer DJ Rudd.
