Last Wednesday evening, Los Angeles witnessed high-speed chaos as the LAPD engaged in a pursuit of carjacking suspects through the county. According to NBC Los Angeles, the chase kicked off around 6:45 p.m. near Compton, and it involved at least three individuals inside a white Toyota Camry. The suspects drove dangerously, narrowly avoiding collisions while traversing on the wrong side of Washington Boulevard and eluding several spike strip deployment attempts.
The fugitives later entered South Los Angeles, where the pursuit continued, leading to them eventually abandoning the vehicle near Hooper Avenue and E 114th Street. As reported by KTLA, this ended the vehicle chase, but a police search ensued after the suspects were seen running into the Nickerson Gardens apartment complex. In a misstep from a well-coordinated operation, one suspect managed to be taken into custody, while the other two gave officers the slip temporarily by entering the complex, which houses over a thousand apartments.
