MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two Mobile Fire-Rescue Department employees have been arrested and are no longer working for the MFRD after multiple alleged thefts, according to the Mobile Police Department.

35-year-old Jameson Smith and 29-year-old Braxton Akridge were arrested; Smith resigned from his position, while Akridge was fired, according to the MPD.
According to MPD officials, the two were witnessed over several months going into the Walmart on the East I-65 Service Road and leaving with items they didn’t pay for.
None of the items allegedly taken cost more than about $20, but the men face felony charges for allegedly coordinating the thefts.
Both firefighters were placed on administrative leave after the allegations came to light.
