Richmond SPCA’s longest-staying dog gets her own mural

One of Richmond’s newest murals celebrates a local dog named Lenora and her love of Starbucks pup cups.

Why it matters: She was in the SPCA’s care longer than any other dog they’ve sheltered, until she found her forever home in 2018.

The big picture: Lenora now sits on the side of the Richmond SPCA’s building, where its new outdoor area for dogs opens later this year.

  • Artists Matt Lively and Tim Harper finished the mural earlier this month as part of an auction item from the SPCA’s Fur Ball, per Lively’s Instagram.

Fun fact: SPCA spokesperson Tabitha Treloar told Axios that Lenora enjoying a pup cup was how she’d end her outings with Jackie Laubacher, “a former staff member who was her best friend and cheerleader.”…
