Roanoke woman awaits news from family in hurricane-hit Jamaica

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Thousands of miles from the destruction, Adina Keels is living her own kind of storm. The last time she heard from her family was through her sister, the day before Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica.

“Before it actually hit that day, I spoke to her and she said it was tearing up Jamaica,” said Adina Keels, owner of Ochco Rios Jamaican Cuisine in Roanoke.

She has been trying to reach her family ever since the hurricane tore across the island, without luck…
