ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)– The Tudor House, a mental health organization in the city of Roanoke, has cut the ribbon on its very first physical space inside the Jefferson Center.
The Tudor House aims to change the conversation on mental health, making it less stigmatized, and it’s all named after Louis Tudor. He took his own life in 2020, and his family wanted to create something that saved lives through prevention, education, and support. Now, five years later, the Tudor house is growing that mission..
“We couldn’t continue to grow with the programs unless we had a space, especially with the comfort bag program,” Kathleen Thorell, the program’s executive director, said. “We have delivered over a thousand bags. We need to pack the bags and store the bags, so we set out to find the funds to be able to have our own space.”
