RENO AND CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) – Hundreds of northern Nevadans took part in a food drive on Friday, Oct. 31, in Reno and Carson City to support the thousands of Nevadans who lost benefits when the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funds ran out.
On Friday, two judges ruled the government must fund the program, payments will not go out Saturday, Nov. 1, because of the government shutdown. It may take about two weeks to get the food stamp electronic debit cards loaded with funds, according to Gray Media.
