A-B Tech Recognized Nationally for Excellence, Competes for Prestigious Aspen Prize

A-B Tech Community College has been named one of 200 community colleges in the United States eligible to compete for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The Aspen Prize is a $1 million award established by the Aspen Institute. It recognizes high achievement and performance among two-year colleges. Selection is based on student outcomes data, including retention, completion, transfer, and bachelor’s attainment rates. This reflects the college’s focus on student success during and after their studies.

The Aspen Prize is in its ninth cycle since starting in 2010. The 200 eligible colleges are located in urban, rural, and suburban areas across the country. They serve student populations ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands. These colleges offer various programs, including workforce development and transfer to bachelor’s degree programs.

A-B Tech President John Gossett said the college’s inclusion on the list shows the dedication of faculty and staff to supporting students and the community.
