2 hospitalized after crash in Swannanoa that hit gas line, officials say

SWANNANOA, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Swannanoa Fire & Rescue reports that a crash involving two cars hit a gas line on US 70 on Friday.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said a vehicle, traveling east, was turning left from US 70 into the Stop n Go on Warren Wilson Road when it was by a vehicle traveling west.

The crash hit a gas riser and broke part of it off, causing a leak shortly before noon. The gas company shut the gas off, and the gas riser was later put back into place, according to officials…
