Charlottesville woman accused of DWI after hitting Albemarle patrol vehicle

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A woman is facing several charges, including a driving while impaired (DWI) charge, after police say she hit the front of an Albemarle County Police Department patrol vehicle while on the scene of a crash.

At about 6:20 p.m., officers with the Albemarle County Police Department responded to a crash in the 1700 block of James Monroe Parkway.

According to police, while crews were removing one of the vehicles involved in the initial crash, an Albemarle officer was in their patrol vehicle, blocking both lanes with their emergency lights activated…
