Upcoming Winter Continuing Education Programs at VGCC Offer Local Residents New Career and Skill Opportunities

Vance-Granville Community College (VGCC) will offer a range of Continuing Education (Con Ed) programs for the Winter 2025-26 term. These programs are designed for adults who want to improve their skills, change careers, or learn something new. Unlike degree or diploma programs, these courses focus on practical training that can be completed in a short time. This approach helps participants enter the workforce or gain new skills quickly.

One of the main courses is the Nurse Aide Level 1 program. It is a 192-hour course that covers personal care, patient rights, nutrition, and anatomy. The program includes classroom lessons, lab work, clinical rotations, and CPR training. Students who complete the course are prepared for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program exam. Classes will be held at all four VGCC campuses, with flexible schedules starting in January 2026 in Henderson, Creedmoor, Louisburg, and Warrenton.

VGCC will also offer an FAA Part 107 Exam Prep course for those interested in technology and aviation. This 24-hour course takes place over three Saturdays in late 2025. It prepares students to take the FAA exam to become licensed commercial drone pilots. The course includes in-person instruction, practice tests, and information about the exam process.
