APD asks public for help in investigation of the theft of $200k in jewelry

ALACHUA, Fla. – Alachua Police Department (APD) is asking the public for help in their investigation of a jewelry store burglary that occurred early on the morning of Saturday, October 25.

At about 1:40 a.m. on October 25, APD officers responded to Fundora Jewelry (15202 NW 147th Drive, Suite 400) in the Rolling Oaks Plaza near the old Hitchcock’s Supermarket. Officers found the business locked, with no signs of a disturbance, but the officers returned at about 5 a.m., met with the owner, and found that the suspect(s) had cut a hole through the roof and forced open a safe; about $200,000 in jewelry was stolen…
