LANCASTER, Pa. — As the sun set over Lancaster County, a group of Starbucks employees were the first across the commonwealth to pick up posters and picket, calling for a fair contract.
The rally took place in East Lampeter Township, where unionized Starbucks workers gathered to demand better wages, improved scheduling and an end to what they describe as unfair labor practices. The demonstration marked the first of several planned pickets in Pennsylvania, with additional rallies scheduled this weekend in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
Negotiations between Starbucks and the Workers United union have been on and off since May 2024. Employees say they are ready to strike if a deal isn’t reached soon…
