As Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend, Bernalillo County Fire & Rescue (BCFR) reminds residents to change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Fire Chief Zach Lardy says replacing batteries and testing alarms helps keep homes safe. BCFR suggests doing this task when changing clocks to ensure alarms work properly.
Residents should install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of the home, including the basement.
