With SNAP benefits set to disappear, a Cuyahoga County coalition wants to bridge the gap

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Local leaders and representatives of local foundations and corporations in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County on Thursday announced $600,000 in food assistance through November for the 190,000 county residents expected to lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Speakers at a media briefing set for 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, at the May Dugan Center in Cleveland described the collaboration between city and county governments, local sports teams and philanthropic agencies and the “urgency of addressing the needs of Cuyahoga County residents.”
