The Last Word: Wii Bowling Remains a Favorite Activity at Senior Center

It was Christmastime 2006. My wife stood in line all night outside a store to purchase a Wii Gaming System. I think one of my kids still has it. I haven’t played that thing in years.

I’m at a place where the Wii is not collecting dust. I’m at the Northwestern Senior Center in Albion on a Wii Bowling Day. Wii bowling has been on the calendar at the senior center since the gaming system was first introduced nearly 20 years ago. Bridget Young, the director at the center, says it’s a great activity for seniors.

“You count it as an exercise,” she says. “Just being competitive and up and concentrating.”…
