The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank reports that, due to the ongoing federal government shutdown and the USDA’s decision not to use emergency funds, people who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will not receive their benefits starting Saturday, November 1.
According to the Food Bank, this change will affect approximately 90,000 families in San Francisco and Marin, as well as millions nationwide.
