Suspect Charged After Stabbing Two Passengers on St. Louis MetroBus

A suspect has been detained following a violent encounter on a St. Louis MetroBus, where two individuals, one of them pregnant, were assaulted with a knife. The incident, which took place near Jefferson Avenue and Arsenal Street, resulted in both victims being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, though the pregnant woman did sustain a serious injury during the attack. The perpetrator, Michael Phillips, 31, was charged with two counts each of first-degree assault and armed criminal action, as reported by First Alert 4.

Following the attack on the #30 MetroBus line in Benton Park West, Phillips allegedly fled the scene but later surrendered and admitted her involvement to authorities, FOX 2 Now states; corroborating evidence was captured by the bus’s internal surveillance system, which recorded both video and audio of the disturbance and subsequent assault.

According to investigators, Phillips had boarded the eastbound bus and shortly thereafter advanced to the back where she began her unprovoked assault on the pair, the man involved in the incident, now recovering alongside his partner, told KSDK that they are doing “great” after the occurrence…
