Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) plans to acquire full ownership of Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville. VUMC has held a minority stake in the 270-bed hospital, its freestanding emergency department, and related physician practices since 2021.
The acquisition, subject to regulatory review, expands VUMC’s regional network in Middle Tennessee, which includes hospitals in Lebanon, Tullahoma, and Shelbyville. VUMC said the move will allow it to provide more convenient, community-based care while maintaining adult and pediatric services already offered at the Clarksville facility.
Hospital leaders said substantially all current Tennova employees in good standing will be retained under the new ownership. Patients are not expected to experience any interruptions in care during the transition.
During their partnership, VUMC and Tennova have introduced several services in Clarksville, including an OB-GYN hospitalist program, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center radiation oncology, and neonatal care through Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital…
