GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Florida’s Attorney General is proposing changes to the state’s insanity defense laws in response to a Marion County case involving a Kentucky child killer.
Attorney General James Uthmeier said he wants reforms following the case of 42-year-old Ronald Exantus. Exantus was charged in connection with the 2015 stabbing death of six-year-old Logan Tipton and found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Exantus was convicted of assaulting Logan’s two sisters and father. He served seven years of a 20-year sentence, then moved to Marion County…
