Trick or treat night in the tri-county area drew thousands — young and old — to neighborhoods, the Port Charlotte Town Center mall, Englewood’s West Dearborn Street, downtown Punta Gorda and all over to collect sweet treats.
Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummel said his officers and staff collected two tons of candy to hand out at their Cops and Goblins event at the Town Center mall. He said they expected 4,000 to 5,000 to show up before the night ended.
Streets were blocked off in Punta Gorda’s historic district and were crowded with adults and children showing off their finest costumes…
