CHANDLER, OKLA (KOKH) — Firefighters from Oklahoma City, Chandler, and Wellston successfully rescued a person trapped approximately 20 feet down in a manhole near the I-44 Chandler exit on Halloween night.
The rescue operation happened on Oct. 31 just before 10 p.m. A paramedic from Engine 6 made contact with the victim and began treatment while Rescue 6 assembled specialized technical rescue equipment, including the Arizona Vortex tripod system, to safely extricate the individual.
Once secured, the patient was lifted from the confined space and transported by medical helicopter to a local hospital for further treatment…
