Jackson County Executive signs $6 million in contracts to support residents

JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. – Amidst the ongoing government shutdown, Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota signed dozens of contracts with community agencies totalling to $6 million.

In a press release from LeVota’s office, the contracts look to support programs serving Jackson County residents as the shutdown lingers on.

In a statement, LeVota said “These contracts represent another example of county government stepping up to meet the needs of our residents—without controversy and without delay. “Even as the federal government remains shut down, SNAP benefits are suspended, and many federal workers are not being paid, Jackson County is continuing to do its part to provide stability and support for our community.”…
