LUBBOCK, Texas — While Texas Tech picked up win over Kansas State this weekend, the Red Raiders were earning victories off the field, as well. On Saturday, the program secured the commitment of Kavian Bryant, a highly touted quarterback prospect from the Class of 2027.
Described by several recruiting outlets, such as On3, 247Sports and ESPN, as the one of best quarterback prospects in the class, Bryant is a major commitment for the future of head coach Joey McGuire’s program.

Bryant is a Palestine, Texas native and is currently playing for Westwood High School. Over two seasons of play with the Panthers, he has thrown for nearly 5,000 yards and 67 touchdowns while only having 10 interceptions. In additions, he racked up over 1,500 yards and added 20 touchdowns with his rushing attack.
Texas Tech will continue to build their rosters for the upcoming years, as the university is emerging as one the marquee programs in the NIL era of college football.
