Canton police investigating report of sewing needle found in Halloween candy

The needle, sticking out from a wrapped Twix, did not appear to seriously injure anyone, according to a Facebook post by the Canton Police Department on Saturday, Nov. 1. But a Canton police sergeant said Sunday they are still investigating in the case.

Police say someone received the candy with the needle while trick-or-treating in the area of Saltz Road and Sheldon Road, a residential area near an elementary school about 30 miles west of downtown Detroit.

“At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident, but out of an abundance of caution, we want the community to be aware and vigilant,” the department posted on Facebook…
