Fresno mom of 7 says she’s donating plasma after being furloughed

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The government shutdown continues into Sunday, leaving more than a million workers without a month’s worth of paychecks. Some workers are also dealing with being furloughed.

Fresno mom of seven, Monica Haydostian, works as a tax examiner for the federal government. That work stopped a month ago because of the government shutdown. She said now, without any money coming in on her end, she’s trying everything to still care for her family.

“I’m hopeful, but not confident. You know, it’s been this long already. I didn’t think it was going to go this long in the first place,” Haydostian said.

This is the first time in 16 years that her department was impacted by a government shutdown…
