Kids’ Food Basket COO Erika Abbo says the food equity nonprofit has an emergency response plan in place to help those effected by the pause in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. KFB currently sends 11,000 daily meals for low-income students attending 66 area schools. Now, they’ll head home with an extra bag of food.
“The bag will have about 10 to 15 items in it so that it can stretch across the week in addition to the food that we’re already sending home with students at the end of the school day.”…
