Man hit, killed on Downtown Connector while running from deputies, authorities say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A man was hit and killed by a car after trying to run away from Clayton County deputies during a chase on the Interstate 75/85 connector in Atlanta, according to authorities.

Deputies tried to make a traffic stop on a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado around 3:30 a.m. Monday, but the pickup truck did not stop, leading to a chase. Shortly after, a PIT maneuver was done, and the pickup truck stopped on the Downtown Connector just south of Arthur Langford Parkway.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect got out of the pickup truck and “attempted to flee on the expressway.” According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), he fell, and a stopped to avoid hitting him…
