A man accused in a deadly shooting at SEPTA’s Arrott Transportation Center in 2024 has been arrested after more than a year on the run. U.S. Marshals confirmed that 32-year-old Benjamin McClain was taken into custody on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, in South Philadelphia. Officers located him on the 2600 block of Wolf Street.
McClain had been wanted for the shooting that occurred on Monday, March 25, 2024, on the 1500 block of Arrott Street at the Arrott Transportation Center. According to the authorities, the attack took place around 4:50 p.m. and is described as a double-shooting: one victim died, the other was seriously wounded.The deceased was identified as 33-year-old Stephen Young, who was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at 5:17 p.m. at a hospital.A second victim, a 20-year-old man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds — one to the back and two to the left leg.
During the investigation, surveillance video released by police showed a man brandishing a gun, accompanied by another man and an unidentified woman, both before and after the shooting.At the time, the Philadelphia Police Department offered a $20,000 reward for any information that would lead to the arrest of the shooter and any accomplices…
