Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center gears up for Girl Power on Today in Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Angela Knapp Eggers, senior director for the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health, joined Today in Amarillo on Monday morning to discuss their Girl Power event.

Girl Power is an event geared toward middle school girls and their mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and other family members. The event works to empower young girls and their guardians through education and group activities.

The event takes place Nov. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Amarillo Civic Center. Tickets are $5 per person and include dinner, photos, door prizes, and a t-shirt.
