Savor and support at Amanda’s House Soup, Bread, and Dessert Fundraiser

(WFRV)- Soup can provide more than just comfort on chilly nights, and at an upcoming event, your purchase of soup can also help to rebuild lives.

In this segment, Paula Jolly, from Amanda’s House/Mandolin Foundation, discusses their upcoming event, The Soup, Bread & Dessert Fundraiser. She provides some history behind Amanda’s House, being named after her daughter, and the people they are able to help at Amanda’s House. Paula explains that events like these are so important because they help them afford keeping up with bills, keeping heat on during the winter, and keeping doors open to help as many as they can. The carryout-only event offers a hearty, homemade meal for just $12 per order, including two cups of soup, bread, crackers, and dessert. Soup selections include Regular Chili, Venison Chili, Sweet Potato Chili (Vegan/Gluten-Free), and Chicken Noodle. All proceeds support Amanda’s House, a safe, compassionate living environment for women and children recovering from substance use, trauma, and mental-health challenges. A bake sale and bucket raffle will also be available during pickup. Orders can be picked up on Sunday, November 9th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., or Monday, November 10th, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
