Who Is Texas Fugitive Ismael Arias?

Ismael Arias is a 52-year-old Hispanic male. He’s 5’10” and weighs 225 pounds. Arias’ identifying marks include tattoos on both upper arms and scars on his back and right knee. Other aliases used include Ismael Arias Duran.

Why Does the Texas DPS Want Ismael Arias?

Ismael Arias is from Cuba and has ties in Harris County. He is in the United States illegally. Arias has a long criminal history that spans across Florida and Texas. In August 2025, he was arrested in Florida for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and criminal mischief. In September 2006, he was arrested in Hudspeth County for aggravated sexual assault of a child and aggravated kidnapping. Then, in November 2006, he was arrested again in Culberson County for sexual assault and kidnapping.

Arias was convicted in Hudspeth County for indecency with a child by contact involving a 13-year-old girl. He served his time with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and was released on parole in July 2013. After a short stay in a federal detention facility in Houston, he was released in September 2013. Arias was discharged from the TDCJ in July 2015. On April 9, 2025, a new warrant was issued out of Harris County after Arias failed to comply with the sex offender registration requirements.
