Sioux Falls man arrested for robbery, assault Friday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man is behind bars after assaulting and robbing a woman Friday.

According to Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sgt. Aaron Benson, the robbery took place near West 17th Street and South Summit Avenue just after 5:30 p.m.

Officers took a call from a witness who saw the man assault a 43-year-old woman and took her purse. The victim said she had just left work a few blocks away and the man followed her in a car until she dropped off a passenger near where the robbery took place.

The man got out of his car, punched the victim several times, took her purse, got back in his car and left the area. The victim had minor injuries and reported knowing the man to officers…
