ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — An Asheville-based nonprofit organization is working to fight hunger with free food pantries and benefit cards as the government shutdown continues.
BeLoved Asheville announced via social media the locations of its new street pantries, as well as the group’s new “EAT Cards,” similar to EBT.
The organization is bracing for more food insecurity as the future of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) remains uncertain.
