ASHEVILLE, NC. (WLOS) — A mountain nonprofit organization created a new initiative for those in need of food amid the ongoing government shutdown.
“Hardcore for Humanity” was founded in western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene hit last September.
This month, the organization started an emergency initiative called “No Empty Tables November” in response to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits being put on pause amid the shutdown.
