‘The consequences are very dire’: Pennsylvania officials warn of school bus stop violations

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – There were 188 violations of the law during this year’s Operation Safe Stop, according to the Shapiro Administration, which released the numbers on Monday.

“Just one incident of passing a stopped school bus is too many, and this many violations in just one day is unacceptable,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said. “This is just a snapshot.”

The numbers, which are from violations recorded one day out of the year, are released by participating school districts, including the West Shore. The district has even gone a step further by permanently installing side stop arm cameras on its buses…
