Stockton employee detained shoplifting suspect until officers arrived, police say

STOCKTON, Calif. — An employee detained a shoplifting suspect until officers arrived and arrested him Saturday in Stockton, police said.

The 25-year-old employee was working around 1:30 p.m. at a business along the 600 block of North Wilson Way when they confronted Lazan McDonald, 29, for allegedly shoplifting merchandise, according to a news release from the Stockton Police Department.
