CHICAGO — A man accused of killing a 20-year-old nursing student in 2022 will spend decades behind bars after pleading guilty to the crime on Monday.
The first-degree murder trial of Richard Chavez, accused in the murder of Charisma Ehresman, was set to begin on Monday. Family members, however, told WGN News that Chavez, instead, pleaded guilty to the slaying.
