Police arrest suspect in Freeport shooting after victim seeks help at local pub

FREEPORT, Ill (WTVO) — Michael Blasing, 66, was arrested by the Freeport Police Department in connection with a shooting on October 30th, after which a 43-year-old victim ran into the Pretzel City Pub seeking help.

According to the Freeport Police Department, officers were called to the Pretzel City Pub, at 1350 W. Galena Avenue, at 10:06 p.m. on Thursday, October 30th, and located the victim, who had come into the bar seeking aid.

Police said the victim was shot at a nearby location. He was taken to Freeport Memorial Hospital to be stabilized before being transported to a Rockford hospital. He is said to be in stable condition at this time…
