Anya Rigoni left behind family members and a veterinary career in California in 2018 to join the San Antonio Police Department. As soon as she arrived for her first day at the police academy, any hesitation she had was gone.
She said she knew immediately she had made the right choice, and now she is encouraging other women to make the same leap of faith she did.
“Just go for it,” Rigoni said. “It’s not going to be easy all the time, by no means, but it is so rewarding, so humbling, and it makes you grow as a person, mentally and physically.”…
