MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Visitors younger than 12 will not be permitted at Grand Strand Health hospitals starting on Wednesday because of an increase in the number of RSV cases, officials said.
“RSV and other respiratory viruses can cause serious illness, particularly for young children, older adults and those with weakened immune systems,” said Dr. George Helmrich, the chief medical officer at Grand Strand Health. “These temporary measures are in place to reduce the risk of spreading infection within the hospital and ensure the safest possible environment for our patients.”
