VIDEO | “Complacency is dangerous” – HIV Awareness Month declared in Delaware

Four decades ago, a diagnosis of HIV / AIDS was virtually a “death sentence.” Substantial progress has been made in treatment and prevention to allow people to live with HIV – but stigma and spread are still concerns.

November was proclaimed HIV Awareness Month by AIDS Delaware Monday during a ceremony in Wilmington. The month will feature numerous opportunities to get tested, as well as special outreach efforts especially in communities of color and among young people.

More than 4,100 people currently are living with HIV and AIDS in Delaware…
