ST. LOUIS — Spirit Airlines said it would discontinue service from St. Louis Lambert International Airport, effective Jan. 8 and affecting all of its three routes that run here.
The airline, based in Dania Beach, Florida, said it was discontinuing St. Louis service, along with service to Milwaukee, Phoenix and Rochester, New York, “as part of our efforts to better position the airline for the future.” It said the move aligns with its smaller operating fleet and “focus on our strongest performing markets.” It is also discontinuing seasonal service at Bucaramanga, Colombia, effective Jan. 13.
“We apologize to our Guests for any inconvenience and will reach out to those with affected travel plans to notify them of their options, including a refund,” the airline said. “Thank you to our partners and Guests in these communities for their support over the years.”…
