Halong evacuees now in more private shelters, state says

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – People who evacuated after Halong hit their villages are now in more private shelters.

That’s according to the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management in reference to those who were in large shelters in Anchorage and Bethel.

“It might be dormitories, hotel rooms, just someplace that is a little bit more comfortable for them, where they don’t have to share bathroom and shower facilities in most cases, and someplace that offers a little bit more privacy and comfort for them,” Jeremy Zidek with DHS&EM and the State Emergency Operations Center said…
