Durhamites headed to the polls Tuesday to vote for mayor and three city council seats.
At the top of the ballot stood incumbent mayor Leonardo Williams, running on the slogan “Durham is Dope” and a platform focused on affordability, culture, innovation and public safety. Anjanée Bell, Williams’ challenger, ran on the slogan “Durham is H.O.P.E,” which stands for Housing and Healing, Opportunity and Ownership, People’s Safety and People’s Trust and Environment and Education, highlighting key promises of her campaign.
