COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Comstock Public School District, like many across the state, is enduring an ongoing bus driver shortage that threatens hundreds of students’ access to education.

In fact, due to the lack of drivers, the transportation supervisor has had to handle routes himself on at least 20 occasions in just the first two months of the school year.
“Last year, not at all, but this year, I’ve been on the road a lot,” Transportation Supervisor Chevez Marshall said. “It’s not ideal.”
