MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Deandre Brown, the now-suspended executive director of the Shelby County Office of Re-Entry, had his bond release approved after appearing in court on Tuesday morning.
Brown and his wife, Vinessa, are accused of theft and money laundering, allegedly misappropriating thousands of dollars in funds from their nonprofit, Lifeline to Success, which is an organization dedicated to helping former offenders transition back into society.
The couple is also accused of spending nearly $700,000 from their nonprofit on a trip to Jamaica, season tickets, and a host of other personal purchases over the course of four years…
