November 4, 2025 – A convicted robber on felony probation is back behind bars today after his arrest for two armed hold-ups involving four victims.
Jermaine Southern, 27, is accused of entering the Citgo at 3050 Brick Church Pike on Halloween night armed with a shotgun that he pointed at two employees prior to taking cash from the register. He fled in an older model black Chevrolet Monte Carlo occupied by his girlfriend, Jasmine McKissack. Surveillance video shows McKissack, 27, in the Monte Carlo as Southern puts on a mask and gloves prior to entering the Citgo.
On November 1 at 4:40 a.m., officers responded to shots fired outside LinQ Social Kitchen on Lafayette Street. A security guard was walking a bartender to her vehicle when a black Monte Carlo pulled up and the driver exited with a shotgun. He told the victims, “you know what this is” and fired the shotgun. The security guard returned fire and the suspect fled. A short time later, Southern was located with a gunshot wound to his hip in the hallway of his and McKissack’s Dickerson Pike apartment complex.
